I found myself as a drop in the ocean, no place to be...

...In depths beneath the waves I sought and learned: Outside the water, I am lost at sea.

March 07, 2018 - Only Ice
Another year gone by and it may appear as if the only focus of interest, worth returning to from hibernation, would be subject matter evolving around cooler weather. Specifically, if the subject is yet again 'Ice'. read more
March 07, 2017 - A very special Birthday
The weather can be very deceiving in the Alps. The winter season was already nearing its end and the days were filled with sunshine and temperatures just above freezing. So why not park the car in the driveway right beneath the rain gutter, where snow was melting and gently dripping onto it? read more
February 26, 2017 - The Last Ice
So a couple of Days ago you may have enjoyed the photo story "Icing on the Cake" about my first impressions of  diving beneath the ice in the Austrian Alps.

I definitely loved the experience, so I met up with Wolfgang again yesterday and we went to the much closer Neufelder See to get some seconds. read more
February 23, 2017 - Scuba Diving in a frozen lake, is just "Icing on the Cake"
When I tell people how passionate I am about scuba diving, most people respond positively, with excitement. They're curious about it all and ask about my favourite destinations and whether I miss the sea already and how much longer until I get to dive again.
"Of course I miss the sea." I tell them, "but I'm going diving this weekend, so I won't have to wait much longer!"
Their eyes open wide and they appear confused; how does one go diving in a landlocked country, they ponder. Well sure, there are rivers and lakes and divers within those are not unheard of, "but isn't it winter?" they ask. They reach for their phone and check the date, just to be sure.
I tell them, "I sure hope so, I'm going ice diving. In the summer that would prove to be quite the challenge."
February 19, 2017 - Breaking News: Website no longer Lost at Sea!
So 2016 has been an incredibly busy year both professionally and at home (I know it's a lame excuse even when it's true) which of course led to all lost at sea related projects to be paused. Now the hiatus has come to an end and "we're back bigger, better and stronger", as they like to say.

I don't know about bigger, but definately better, as with the relaunch comes a website (as you can see... yes you're probably reading this text from there now). One of the advantages of having this additional platform is our abilty to tell different stories. Previously we were limited in the number of characters that could go into a facebook post before it got cluttered, whilst YouTube is primarily designed to feature videos (who ever reads the details in the post below the video there anyway?).

Of course those other platforms are still going to be useful to this entire endeavour, but here on this site we can tell other stories that previously didn't have their space. We can now write articles and blog entries chronicling our daily adventures. We can tell fotostories and feature guest commentaries and there are few bounds to our posibilities.

I know I'm excited! I hope you are too!
